The Future Stars Academy Evo in EA FC 27 turns one ST or CAM rated 80 or lower into an 85-rated Future Stars Item over four steps, released on Friday 9, Sunday 11, Tuesday 13 and Friday 16 October 2026. Every step adds a base upgrade and asks you to choose one path from a short list, so two people can put the same player in and come out with different cards. It is not repeatable, so you get one player. This guide explains how the chain works, using EA's own worked example, Chelsea's Kendry Páez (74 CAM).
Future Stars Academy Evo at a glance
| Step | Release | Max entry OVR | Base upgrade | Choose one path |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Step 1 | Friday 9 October 2026 | 80 | To 81 OVR, broad attribute boosts | Pace, Shooting or Dribbling (each with a Weak Foot or Skill Moves upgrade) |
| Step 2 | Sunday 11 October 2026 | 81 | +1 to 82 OVR, shooting and dribbling boosts | Playmaker, Powerhouse or All-Rounder |
| Step 3 | Tuesday 13 October 2026 | 82 | None shared: each path gives +1 to 83 OVR | Rapid, Power Shot or Technical PlayStyle (cap of three PlayStyles) with matching boosts |
| Step 4 | Friday 16 October 2026 | 83 | +2 to 85 OVR, shooting and physical boosts | Shooting with Low Driven Shot (cap of four PlayStyles), or Passing and stat round-out |
Who is eligible for the Future Stars Academy Evo in FC 27?
Any ST or CAM rated 80 or lower, with no more than 86 Pace and seven PlayStyles, born on or after 9 October 2003. The birthdate rule means the player must be 23 or younger on release day. EA lists all game modes as valid for the Evo, and it is not repeatable: one player per club.
Two things follow from the entry rules. The Step 1 base upgrade is large enough to take any eligible player to the 81 OVR cap, so a 70-rated starter and an 80-rated starter both come out of Step 1 at 81. And each later step has its own maximum entry rating (81, 82 and 83) that matches the previous step's result, so the chain only works if you keep the player on it.

What does the Future Stars Academy Evo look like on Kendry Páez?
EA's example takes Páez from 74 to 85 OVR using Shooting at Step 1, Playmaker at Step 2, Pace with Rapid at Step 3 and Passing at Step 4. His Weak Foot rises from three stars to four at Step 1. The table shows his face stats after each step.
| Stage | OVR | PAC | SHO | PAS | DRI | DEF | PHY | Path chosen |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Base card | 74 | 79 | 69 | 71 | 78 | 47 | 57 | |
| After Step 1 | 81 | 81 | 84 | 78 | 81 | 49 | 69 | Shooting |
| After Step 2 | 82 | 81 | 84 | 84 | 82 | 49 | 69 | Playmaker |
| After Step 3 | 83 | 84 | 84 | 84 | 82 | 49 | 69 | Pace (Rapid) |
| After Step 4 | 85 | 84 | 84 | 86 | 83 | 49 | 72 | Passing and stat round-out |
EA has not published the attribute caps for each boost, so a different player will not end up with the same numbers even on the same path. Treat Páez as a demonstration of the structure rather than a recommendation: the final 85 OVR is fixed, the face stats underneath it are not.
Which Future Stars Academy Evo path should you choose?
Decide Step 3 first, then pick the earlier paths that support it. The PlayStyle added at Step 3 (Rapid, Power Shot or Technical) shapes the finished card more than any single attribute boost. Three sensible builds:
- Pace at Step 1, Rapid at Step 3: for a striker who needs to run in behind. The 86 Pace entry cap means most eligible players are not quick to begin with, so this is the route to a fast forward.
- Shooting at Step 1, Power Shot at Step 3, Shooting at Step 4: a pure finisher with Low Driven Shot added at the end.
- Dribbling at Step 1, Technical at Step 3, Passing at Step 4: a CAM built for carrying and creating.
Step 2 is the least decisive choice: Playmaker suits a CAM, Powerhouse suits a target striker, All-Rounder sits between the two. FUT.GG's Best PlayStyles by Role page shows which PlayStyle matters most for the role you have in mind, and the Evo Lab lets you preview the chain on your own player. In game, the Evolution Chain Preview shows which later Evolutions a player stays eligible for before you commit.

Future Stars Academy Evo rules to remember
- One player only. The Evo is not repeatable.
- Keep the player on the Academy path between steps. The chain delivers exactly each step's maximum entry rating, so any other Evolution applied in between risks pushing the player over the next cap.
- Path choices cannot be changed. Remove Last Evolution takes off the most recent step entirely, and removal is final.
- The chain cannot be finished early. Steps 2, 3 and 4 have fixed release dates, so the 85 OVR card arrives no sooner than Friday 16 October 2026.
- Evolutions usually release at 6pm UK time (17:00 UTC), though EA has not published times for these steps.
