Frauen-Bundesliga TOTS Predicted Squad
It was a two-horse race at the top of the Frauen-Bundesliga table, with Munich looking highly likely to go on and lift another title. This is reflected in the prediction, with five of the twelve coming from the potential champions. Heading the side, we have Beerensteyn, Harder, and Buhl.
GK: Rafaela Borggrafe (Freiburg) - 77 OVR -> 91 OVR:
While it would be easy to opt for Mahmutovic here, given the number of Munich players likely to make this side, the goalkeeper position offers a chance for some variety. Borggräfe has made the second-highest number of saves this season with 85, underlining her importance to the team. She has also managed to keep seven clean sheets, with her performances rescuing Freiburg on numerous occasions.
LB: Carolin Simon (Bayern Munich) - 81 OVR -> 93 OVR:
Bayern Munich boast an outstanding defensive record, conceding just thirteen goals in twenty matches. Simon has been instrumental in achieving that feat, while also contributing at the other end of the pitch with three goals and three assists. With numbers like that, it's hard to justify looking elsewhere for this position.
CB: Glodis Viggosdottir (Bayern Munich) - 84 OVR -> 94 OVR:
With so much attacking flair in this Munich side it is crucial to have solid foundations that allow those players the freedom to express themselves. Viggosdottir provides exactly that. She is the rock at the back and has played a key role in maintaining Bayern's impressive defensive record. The Iceland international featured in this side last year and there is every reason to believe she will do so again.
RB: Lynn Wilms (Wolfsburg) - 76 OVR -> 92 OVR:
Wilms earns her spot for similar reasons to Simon. Wolfsburg boast a strong defensive record, conceding just seventeen goals in twenty matches, and remain the only side to have applied any real pressure to Munich’s title charge. In addition to her defensive solidity, Wilms has made valuable contributions going forward, recording four goals and three assists. Despite not receiving any promotional inclusions this year, she still comfortably deserves a place in this side.
LW: Lineth Beerensteyn (Wolfsburg) - 83 OVR -> 96 OVR:
Despite Wolfsburg finishing second, only a few players have truly stood out for selection. Beerensteyn was one of the first names on the team sheet, having scored an impressive seventeen goals to lead the Golden Boot race. With three in-form cards to her name already, this potential TOTS inclusion could result in a phenomenal item.
CAM: Laura Freigang (Frankfurt) - 83 OVR -> 93 OVR:
Freigang's early-season form was exceptional, and although she couldn’t maintain that blistering pace throughout, her consistency over the campaign places her among the best in the division. With fourteen goals and five assists, she has been a key reason why Frankfurt remain one of the league’s top sides this season.
CDM: Georgia Stanway (Bayern Munich) - 84 OVR -> 93 OVR:
While Stanway's main responsibility in this Munich side is to cover the backline, which she does to a very high standard, the English midfielder also contributes a fair amount in attack with five goals and three assists. Her place in this side seems an obvious one, especially with some big names not featuring this year.
LM: Klara Buhl (Bayern Munich) - 83 OVR -> 93 OVR:
Leading the way in assists is Buhl with an impressive twelve to her name, four more than anyone else in the division. Her creative brilliance has been a consistent threat for Munich. Buhl has also chipped in with seven goals, meaning she is averaging just under a goal contribution per game.
CAM: Pernille Harder (Bayern Munich) - 84 OVR -> 96 OVR:
The final Munich player in this prediction is arguably the most deserving. Harder has been one of the best players in the division this season. While some of her appearances have come from a striker role, the majority have been just behind the forward line, which is likely to be her listed position. With thirteen goals and five assists, her inclusion feels inevitable.
CM: Geraldine Reuteler (Frankfurt) - 80 OVR -> 92 OVR:
With Frankfurt scoring more goals than any other side in the division this season, with 62 in 20 matches, it comes as no surprise that there are several contenders from their side. Reuteler is another who has excelled in this brilliant attacking side, and with nine goals and six assists, she has played a large role, despite playing as a central midfielder for most of her matches.
ST: Selina Cerci (Hoffenheim) - 77 OVR -> 91 OVR:
It’s often the case that you see a random inclusion in these sides from a team not competing at the top. Cerci seems to be the best contender for that spot this year, with the Hoffenheim striker scoring twelve times. Although this only places her fourth in the scoring charts, she is actually the highest scoring striker, bizarre.
ST: Vanessa Fudalla (Leipzig) - 75 OVR -> 92 OVR:
Either of Leipzig's attacking players could feature here, with both Fudalla and Hoffman excelling despite being in eighth position. I am leaning towards Fudalla, as a lot of her games have been from the CAM position rather than outright striker, making her stats more impressive. With ten goals and three assists, her performances have played a role in securing Leipzig's position in the division.
